Audio Books Are a Great Way to Learn a Foreign Language – Especially When They are Free!

Based on personal experience, I really don’t think there are a whole lot of things I enjoy more than cuddling up with and reading to a child.

However, there are times when we are just too busy or we may not be physically present to have the option of sitting down and reading to our children.  What’s a good alternative then?

The answer is Audio Books.

Audio books have lots of benefits, such as entertaining children, calming them down, and getting them away from the TV set or gaming systems.

Audio books can also come in very handy during a family trip.  Bored children and/or siblings who are fighting with each other is not my idea of vacation!  Whenever I and my husband went anywhere with the kids, we always brought books along.  In fact, we always kept books in the car and even in the diaper bag.   Traveling with some books on tape or CD can usually make the journey far more enjoyable  and less stressful for everyone involved.  Even short distances driving back and forth from work or the grocery store can be much more pleasant when you come armed with audio books – entertainment that can be both fun and educational for them.

The same goes for the daily commute: audio books are great when driving your child or children to work–you have an ideal opportunity to put them in the mindset for their entire school day. Of course, this method works best when the kids hear a title they really do enjoy.

Audio books can really help speed up the learning process

Audio books, especially if they accompanied by picture books are an excellent way to help your child learn to read.  In this way children learn to associate the printed word with its corresponding vocalization. In fact, if you click this link: Click Here to Receive your FREE gifts!you can get on our reading list and immediately be sent an audio download of Ella’s first book, “Doggy’s Busy Day.”  You will also be entered in a monthly drawing to win a FREE copy of one of Ella’s books, be notified when FREE Kindle downloads are available and be eligible for lots of other  goodies! Learning a foreign language is a great way to optimize the use of an audio recording along with a book.  As with most things, the earlier you start, the easier it is to reach your goals.  Learning other languages is certainly no exception.  All of Ella’s books are in the process of being translated into several different languages with an audio recording read by a native speaker to accompany each book.

Audio books are also a great way to learn a foreign language.

Click HERE to pick up El Día Ocupado de la Perrita/Doggy’s Busy Day.  This book is bilingual, written in both Spanish and English.  When you purchase the paperback version, you receive the audio recording absolutely FREE!   What an enjoyable way for you and the little ones in your life to learn the language together! There are tons of sites out there that offer free audio recording for your children in every category imaginable!  You can listen to the recordings online, or better yet, download them and put them on a CD for your kids to listen to.  Teaching our kids to listen without anything visual in front of them is such an important learning skill.  This is the perfect way to do it. Here are a few sites that I checked out: www.storynory.comwww.learnoutloud.com and www.loyalbooks.com/genre/children.  Be careful though – these sites are addicting because there are so many great options.  I don’t even have small children and I had a hard time leaving these sites to get back to work! After checking out some of these resources, I think you will get an idea of the massive amount of free resources on the internet for helping you to expand your child’s listening skills.  I know that I was certainly surprised to find out there are so many. As always, take care and take the time to read to a child – today and every day!  ellaandjayneinframe                 Sincerely, Ella and Jayne Click Here to Receive your FREE gifts!
